Manza Onsen – Overview
Manza Onsen is both a ski resort and an onsen, as its name suggests. Prince Hotels and Resorts opened the resort in March 1956. The mountain used to be much larger than it is today, but unfortunately, the Asahiyama part of the mountain is now closed (see the map for current trail availability). The mountain is close to Shiga Kogen and Kusatsu, but the road connecting them closes in the winter. To reach Shiga and Kusatsu, you must take the toll road, Manza Highway.
Ski Season Length
Manza Onsen is typically open from late December to late March. For the 2023/24 ski season, the resort opened Dec 23 and closed March 24.
Hours of Operation
The mountain is open from 0830hrs to 1630hrs, seven days a week. During the New Year holidays, the resort is open until 1700hrs.
